Profile of Roz Colyer

Under the pseudonym of Roz Colyer, I have written a trology of novels with the umbrella title Closed Circuits, Cluttered Minds, comprising Riding the Wheel, Wheels and Circles and Full Circle. I have also had short stories published in My Weekly, Bella and Robinson Books, and have won or come second in a couple of writing competitions. Over the last 10 years I have run fiction writing courses at Polstead and Leiston Abbey in Suffolk and on the Greek island of Agistri. At the moment I'm planning a writing week in Felixstowe in November (watch this space). From 2001 to 2004 a friend and I ran day courses in the Gibberd Garden in Harlow, Essex, for fiction and poetry. I also run a'creative editing' service via post and email for writers needing more in-depth, one-to-one advice and comment, and a mentoringservice for those even more committed to seeing their work published. I've had so many other things to do recently that I haven't given any thought to another novel, but that may change in the future. Again, watch this space...Maureen Blundell

Profile of Yvonne Crabtree

Born in 1955, I grew up in Baildon, West Yorkshire, where I attended the Salt Grammar School.
In 1975, I married Andy and moved to Ndola, Zambia for two years, then in 1978, after a brief spell back in the UK, we moved to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, where our first child, Peter, was born the following year. Pete was diagnosed with Down’s syndrome and we returned to West Yorkshire in 1981.Our daughter, Hannah, was born in 1984.

I trained as a florist at Shipley College but had to give up my job after Pete left full-time education. Reading and writing have always been pastimes I enjoyed and I now have more time to devote to both.
Andy and I moved to North Yorkshire in 1995; our son lives in sheltered accommodation in Bradford and our daughter lives in London.

Profile of Peter Cooke

I was born in Belper, Derbyshire and lived there for thirty years playing cricket for Belper Meadows.  I moved to Baildon, West Yorkshire in 1969.  A few years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Dickie Bird at Headingley, during the Yorkshire match with Derbyshire and he thought I still lived in Derbyshire.  When he learned I'd lived in Baildon for some years and played cricket for them in the Bradford League, he said, 'All reet then lad, tha' can stay a bit longer.' I took him at his word.  Although, I have recently moved to Ilkley.

My partner and I have strong connections with Filey and we visit whenever we can.  We are both very fond of the Yorkshire coast and have a number of friends who live there.   My favourite city is York and I like nothing better than browsing around the shops in the Shambles and the streets around the Minster.

After a long career as a Senior manager in the textile/chemical industries, I was made redundant and decided to make a career change  I obtained a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education at Leeds University and became a teacher for seventeen years.  I took early retirement and was at last able to achieve my long-held desire to become a writer.

History and glassmaking have been hobbies of mine for as long as I can remember.  Originally intending to write a history of the influential Venetian glassmaker, Jacopo Verselini, who started making glass in London during the reign of Elizabeth I, my research found only a few dramatic events and little on his private life. Lacking detail, I decided to use my imagination.  This resulted in The Glass Dagger, the first of a quartet of romantic adventure stories in The Glassmaker Series.  I have recently published the second adventure, The Crystal Ship.  Book Three, Blood-Red Goblet, is scheduled for publication in 2010 and Book four, A Shattered Crystal in 2011.  See link to The Glassmaker Series for details of these books.

I am a member of The Society of Authors and my books are approved by Amazon, Gardners, Bertrams, Waterstones and Borders. Petan has published books for three other authors and there are on-going projects with two more.
